Frequently asked questions
For small groups I use a Landrover Discovery Sport which includes luxury features such as air conditioning, panoramic window with privacy glass, heated and reclining seats, all of which will ensure your comfort whilst traveling on Scotland’s roads. For larger groups I use a Mercedes Benz V Class which includes air conditioning, panoramic roof, privacy class and reclining seats for up to 7 passengers, with ample boot space.
This depends on the tour you have selected:
- A Step-on or Walking Tour Guide will include the services of a guide for a specified time – usually ½ (4 hours) or full day (8 hours).
- A Driver Guide will include the services of a driver/guide, all fuel, ferry crossings, water, on-board WIFI (where available) for a specified time – usually½ (4 hours) or full day (8 hours).
What is not included in the tour?
- Meals
- Entrance fees
- Gratuities
- Accommodation or extended tours
Can you pick me up from my hotel?
Yes, I can pick you up and drop you off at your hotel, airport or location of your choice.
Is accommodation included in the price of the tour?
No, accommodation is not included in the cost of your tour. I am happy to recommend some accommodation to suit your budget.
A guideline of fees are outlined below, however as many tours are customised, please contact me for a detailed quote:
- Step-on or Walking Tour: 1/2 Day (up to 4 hours)
£200 - Step-on or Walking Tour: Full day (up to 8 hours)
£320 - Driver Guide: 1/2 Day (up to 4 hours)
£375 - Driver Guide: Full Day (up to 8 hours)
£650
Guide rates do not include meals or accommodation. On an extended tour an allowance of up to £175 will be added to cover accommodation and meal costs.
Whilst I aim to be flexible, tours which exceed 8 hours incur an additional cost of £40 per hour for a Step-on Guide and £65 for a Driver-Guide.
What method of payment do you accept?
I accept all major credit cards or a bank transfer in English Pounds.
A 10% deposit is required at the time of booking. The balance of the tour should be paid no later than 28 days before departure.
Should I get travel insurance?
It is highly recommended that you take out suitable insurance to cover travel, medical (including COVID-19) and cancellation costs.
