Go to the Isle of Skye for towering basalt cliffs, and amazing rock formations like the ‘Old Man of Storr and the Quiraing.
Head to Sutherland, Caithness and the East Coast for dramatic cliffs that hug the coastline. Marvel at the ‘pudding stone’ with Dunnottar castle perched on top.
With so many beaches around Scotland to choose from, these are some of my favourites. For powdery white sand and shimmering seas – Luskintyre Beach on the Isle of Harris, Vatersay beach, Tràigh an Iar on North Uist, Fidden Bay on the Isle of Mull, the Achmelvich coast on the North Coast 500 are hard to beat. Or head to Sandwood sands tinged with pink hues and flanked by sand dunes or the pristine red sands at Gruinard Bay in Sutherland.
